Universe fonts are our fashion
It's font time that we occasionally feature.
Gonjicchi Blog has introduced official Apple's single-width fonts and anthropomorphized manga of fonts.
For engineers, uniform fonts are fashion.
When programming, I want to be particular about the characters I always look at.
Recommended fonts
Let's start by introducing some recommended uniform-width fonts. Both can be downloaded for free.
Ubuntu Mono
First, there is Ubuntu Mono, which is standard installed on Ubuntu.
It has a unique atmosphere and is particularly well known for its cute letter "m". Many people don't have to install Ubuntu.
Fira Code
FiraCode is a font published by nikitonsky
for programmers, with distinctive symbols.
It may seem strange at first, but the visibility is excellent. It becomes addictive when you use it.
SF Mono
Apple's standard font, SF Mono.
The overwhelming ease and beauty of the font kerning woven together. Personally, I think the ovals are particularly beautiful and I can see them in 9 and 0. (It's also good that zeros are marked so that they are properly distinguished from the capital O)
How to install fonts on a Mac
The font installation method is simple. When you download each, you will find the ttf file, so you simply double-click the ttf file. (In the case of SF Mono, it is a dmg file, so just install it as directed.)
Example of VS Code settings (see Settings -> Text Editor -> Font from the settings icon at the bottom left of the screen)
Rubymine configuration example (Rubymine -> Preferences -> Editor -> Font)
Side note
"Helvetica Neighbor" is an anthropomorphic manga of fonts that I previously introduced on my blog.
The atmosphere and personality of European fonts match perfectly, making it a great match for learning fonts.
