The wisdom of the Jews to survive
This is the first Jewish episode in a year.
Last time, I featured a book by Den Fujita, the manager of McDonald's Japan.
Due to their history of persecution and wandering, the Jews acquired the financial industry as a means of survival.
When they were persecuted in the Roman Empire, moneylending was considered a lowly act according to Christian teachings. Therefore, the Jews were forced to take up moneylending as their livelihood.
But they turned it to their advantage. Debt became a weapon. Even in modern Japan, the banking industry is an important industry that holds the purse strings of companies and individuals, but they held the purse strings of the Romans who had persecuted them.
Today, if you look at the banking and gold trading companies around the world, many are run by Jews.
The Jews have passed down their survival techniques through their scripture, the Talmud. As a result, the Talmud is packed with the distilled wisdom of business.
The Jewish Way of Business
Sales books often say this.
Find a buyer who wants your product and sell it to them for a high price and in large quantities.
But a Jewish manager said this.
True business is finding a product that you don't handle and selling it to people who don't want it. You can't do it without that kind of passion.
When it comes to passion for making money, there is no one who can beat the Jews.
From the stage where the customer is not aware of it, find a product that no one knows and sell it.
Recently, I found a good example. Mr. Hotehama of Double L Inc. After once taking an internship with former Livedoor President Horie during his student days, he is now rapidly growing his business in the anime and manga industry.
It seems that his business is doing well, having started selling a variety of designed masks at "Masukuya" in LaLaport TOKYO-BAY. At first glance, it is a field far removed from his main business, but he is doing it.
Masks have already shifted from non-woven masks to fashion items, and he is collecting and selling products that customers do not know about. A wonderful sense. And just like Den Fujita, he is competing on the main street.
The story of the optician
A Jew who runs an optician's shop gave me a lesson in sales.
Listen, when a customer comes to buy glasses, after you've finished the eye exam, show them the frames first.
The frames don't have a price tag. If the customer likes it, tell them it's 10,000 yen.
If the customer doesn't say anything, tell them that there is an additional 3,000 yen for the lenses, and if the customer doesn't say anything, tell them that one lens is 3,000 yen. Got it?
Yes.
