【Notion】[Includes 1-month invitation link] Notion is better than Evernote for managing your life
The title is from Power Pro (I tend to marry older female announcers).
In a nutshell
I recommend Notion for managing your life.
There are many good things about Notion, but I have three particular favorites.
2.1 The web clipper is highly accurate and you can specify an infinite number of save destinations (pages or folders).
2.2 You can set up templates for diaries, book reviews, etc., and display the collected data in various ways, such as lists, kanban boards, galleries, and calendars (this is a feature that especially made me say WOW!)
2.3 You can set a cover image for each page to create a different look and feel (you can specify covers for technical notes, travel, movies, books, diaries, work, etc.).
Here is an invitation link that allows you to use the paid plan for one month for free. Once you get used to it, you won't be able to live without it.
I recommend Notion for managing your life.
I love organizing and managing the information I see and hear on a daily basis, and I used to clip articles to Evernote and save PDFs and book reviews. However, I felt that Evernote had issues with the listability of information and the slowness of data input processing, and it never quite reached a level where I wanted to use it every day.
It was then that I came across the following note article introducing Notion.
I tried Notion for about a month and found that I couldn't live without it, so I'd like to introduce it to you (the photo is of my JS technical notes).
Roughly speaking, Notion is the ideal form of groupware to date. According to the article above,
It's a service that combines Google Docs (Dropbox Paper),
Google Sheets,
Trello,
a task app,
and GitHub Wiki.
I agree. It has everything (and it's fast).
By the way, Notion has a function for migrating from Evernote, and the migration from Evernote to Notion was easy and accurate.
Below are some of the things I found particularly useful when using Notion.
There are many good things about Notion, but I have three particular favorites.
① The web clipper is highly accurate and you can specify an infinite number of save destinations (pages or folders).
Like Evernote, Notion offers a web clipper function (a function for saving web pages) as a Chrome extension.

This is the same as Evernote, but what's amazing is that you can specify an infinite number of save destinations. Notion has the concept of pages and databases that can hold multiple pages (which can be displayed as lists, kanban boards, or galleries), and you can specify them as you like. You can sort travel, places you want to eat, movies, helpful articles, references, Github links, etc. into your own organized lists with a single button.
② You can set up templates for diaries, book reviews, etc., and display the collected data in various ways, such as lists, kanban boards, galleries, and calendars (this is a feature that especially made me say WOW!).
This is a particularly surprising feature. You can specify multiple ways to display the collected data.
For example, you can manage your diary as a calendar, your book reviews as a gallery, and your development notes in a kanban board format.
What's more, you can switch from viewing your development notes in a kanban board format to a calendar format with deadlines for the same data. I've never seen anything so advanced in data representation.
③ You can set a cover image for each page to create a different look and feel (you can specify covers for technical notes, travel, movies, books, diaries, work, etc.).
Unlike Evernote, which has a monolithic design, you can specify a cover for each of your lists. You can upload your own images for the covers, or you can choose from a selection of beautiful photos from the free stock photo site Unsplash. This is one of my favorite features.
- This is the cover for my collection of investment-related study notes.
- This is the cover for my book collection.
- This is the cover for my food and drink collection (my list of restaurants).
Aside (Recommended Book)
A recommended design book. It's packed with design tips that you can use forever. I use it often myself.
